NYC Wedding Venues // Getting married in New York City means choosing between a hundred different New Yorks. A five-minute ceremony at the City Clerk, vows in a Central Park garden, dinner under the chandeliers of a 1904 ballroom or a long table in a converted foundry with the Queensboro Bridge in view: every one of them is a real NYC wedding.
This guide covers Manhattan and our favorites in Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island. For Brooklyn, see our separate guide to Brooklyn wedding venues. For every venue you will find capacities, prices, catering rules and how to get there.
Updated October 2026. We checked every venue again on its own website and read its 2026 brochures where it publishes them. When a venue keeps its prices private, we quote the figures it gives on its own Zola or WeddingWire listing and say so. Prices change every year and usually exclude NYC sales tax (8.875%) and service charges, so treat them as a starting point and confirm when you inquire. Manhattan Wedding Venues
The City Clerkโs Office
Civic CenterUp to 6 peopleIndoor
The classic New York โCity Hall weddingโ actually happens at the Office of the City Clerk at 141 Worth Street. Ceremonies are by appointment only, booked through Project Cupid, and take place on weekdays, and you leave with your marriage certificate the same day.
Plan your portraits outside afterwards: Foley Square, the courthouse steps and the Brooklyn Bridge are all a short walk away.
- GuestsNo more than six people in total, including the two of you and your witness.
- Prices$35 for the license plus $25 for the ceremony, paid by card or money order (no cash).
- Good to knowArrive between 8:30 am and 3:15 pm, Monday to Friday, with your license, a witness over 18 and the same photo ID you used for the license. The certificate you receive on the day canโt carry an apostille: for use abroad, order an extended certificate from the Marriage Bureau.
Conservatory Garden, Central Park
Central Park, Fifth AvenueCeremonies onlyOutdoor
This formal garden at the northeast end of the park is one of the prettiest places in the city to say โI doโ. Ceremonies in the Conservatory Garden need a permit from the Central Park Conservancy, which gives you 90 minutes for the ceremony and photos at the pergola, its terraces or near the fountain. Apply at least ten days ahead; permits for each year open on January 1.
Keep it simple: chairs, arches, amplified sound, alcohol and receptions are not allowed, and the garden stays open to the public. For a ceremony anywhere else in Central Park you need an NYC Parks permit instead.
- GuestsNo set limit, but there are only the gardenโs benches: chairs canโt be brought in (one or two folding chairs on request for special needs).
- PricesThe permit fee is shown when you book on the Conservancyโs ticket site. Cancellations within 30 days and rain are not refunded.
- Good to knowRain or shine. No rice, confetti or petals, no arches, rugs, alcohol or amplified sound (acoustic instruments are fine), no drones. Your permit includes the Center Garden for portraits. Wedding policies (PDF).
- Best seasonTulips and crabapples in spring, wisteria on the pergola, perennials in summer and Korean chrysanthemums in autumn.
- Getting thereVanderbilt Gate on Fifth Avenue between 104th and 105th Streets; step-free access through the North Gate at 106th Street.
Tavern on the Green
Central Park West at 67th StreetUp to 300 seatedIndoor & outdoor
The building that is now Tavern on the Green was designed by Calvert Vaux as a sheepfold for the sheep that grazed Sheep Meadow, and it became a restaurant in 1934. Today it hosts both ceremonies and receptions, in rooms like the glass-walled Central Park Room or the string-lit courtyard.
It is about as Central Park as a reception gets, and the park is right outside the door for portraits.
- GuestsFrom the venueโs capacity chart (PDF): the Main Courtyard seats 275 to 300 outdoors (250 under a tent), the South Terrace up to 250, and the indoor rooms 50 to 100 each. Weddings start at 100 guests.
- PricesNot on its own site. On its WeddingWire listing, the reception site fee starts at $25,000 (January to March, July and August) and $32,500 in the other months, plus a ceremony fee from $1,000. Its Zola listing shows four food and drink packages from $295 (Classic: a cocktail hour, three courses, beer and wine) to $455 (Icon: premium open bar and a Ron Ben-Israel cake); ask whether that is per guest.
- CateringIn-house. You can bring your own wedding cake.
- Getting thereDrop-off at the entrance via the park drive. Parking at 10 West 66th Street, $35 for up to seven hours with the restaurantโs validation.
- PortraitsBethesda Terrace, Strawberry Fields and the Carousel are all within a 15-minute walk.
Bryant Park Grill
MidtownUp to 220 guestsIndoor & outdoor
Tucked behind the New York Public Library, Bryant Park Grill closes to the public for your wedding. You can marry on the rooftop terrace or in the South Garden (heated and tented in winter) and dine in the main room, with Bryant Parkโs trees and the Midtown towers as the backdrop.
The package includes an open bar hour, a three-course dinner with wine and unlimited sparkling wine, and you are free to bring your own photographer, florist and band.
- GuestsUp to 220, depending on the season. Ceremonies for 200 on the rooftop terrace or in the South Garden; dinner for 150 with dancing in the Grill dining room, or 250 in the South Garden.

Children aged 4 to 11 eat at half price, and extra time costs $35 per person per hour. See the wedding brochure.
- IncludedAn event coordinator, one waiter for every 10 guests, a free tasting for four, and the restaurant books your wedding night at the Bryant Park Hotel across the street.
- Good to knowBring your own cake (no cutting fee) and your own vendors. Photos in Bryant Park need a free permit, and the library steps and lions need the libraryโs permission. The sample day ends at 11:30 pm with a sparkler send-off.
- Getting thereB, D, F or M to 42nd Street-Bryant Park, or the 7 to Fifth Avenue. Cars drop off on West 40th Street.
Prince George Ballroom
NoMadUp to 300 seatedIndoor
The Prince George Ballroom was the ballroom of the 1904 Prince George Hotel, a Beaux Arts building. After the hotel closed, the nonprofit Breaking Ground bought it in 1996 and turned the hotel into supportive housing. The ballroom was restored in 2005 and refreshed again in 2015: 15-foot ceilings, hand-carved columns, gilded details and a fireplace.
Here is the lovely part: all net proceeds from events go to Breaking Groundโs housing for homeless and low-income New Yorkers. Two smaller rooms work for smaller weddings: the brick-walled Gallery at the 27th Street entrance and the Beaux Arts Ladiesโ Tea Room, which the venue suggests for ceremonies.
- GuestsBallroom: 300 seated, 400 standing. Gallery: 125 seated. Ladiesโ Tea Room: 55 seated. Floor plans and specs.
- PricesNot published on the venueโs site. On its Zola listing, full weddings (ceremony and reception) start at $100,000.

- Address15 East 27th Street, between Fifth and Madison Avenue.
The Explorers Club
Upper East SideUp to 100 seatedIndoor & outdoor
The headquarters of The Explorers Club is a Jacobean-style mansion on East 70th Street, built for the Clark family; the club moved in in 1965. For weddings it suggests the second floor: the Clark Room with mahogany paneling, a carved fireplace and expedition flags, the Library with a 15th-century Italian ceiling, stained glass and a working fireplace, and a terrace with a limestone and marble arcade that can be used all year.
It is a wonderful choice if you want a wedding that feels like a private club in an old novel, surrounded by flags and artifacts from a century of expeditions.
- GuestsThe club lists 100 seated, 130 in rows and 175 standing for its main event floor. The vaulted Gallery seats 50 for a smaller dinner.
- PricesRental rates on request only, from the clubโs events team (see the rentals page).
- Good to knowThe club publishes no catering or vendor rules, so ask about both when you inquire.
The Ribbon
Upper West SideUp to 125 seatedIndoor
One block from Central Park and close to The Dakota, The Ribbon is a restaurant at 20 West 72nd Street with art on the walls, exposed brick, pressed-tin ceilings and warm lighting. It hosts intimate ceremonies (for around 20) and receptions, and it is just as good for a rehearsal dinner or an elopement celebration.
- GuestsEast and West Dining Rooms together: 125 seated, 200 standing. The Franconia Bar: 100 seated.
- PricesFrom the 2026 events brochure (PDF): a family-style three-course dinner at $90 per person, buffet stations at $55 per person, passed bites at $25 to $35 per person per hour, and open bars at $20 (beer and wine), $25 (standard) or $30 (premium) per person per hour. The Foundry
Long Island City, QueensUp to 180 guestsIndoor & outdoor
We featured a beautiful wedding at The Foundry, and it is easy to see why couples love it. The 19th-century building made fine varnishes and later housed a metal foundry (the old logo is still on the corner), then stood empty until the Du Val family restored it. It has hosted events since 2001.
You can marry in the main hall, in the courtyard with views of the Queensboro Bridge, or in the greenhouse, and the rental covers 12 hours. See a full wedding at The Foundry by Brett & Jessica.
