The name Sean Flanigan is probably familiar to most in the photographic world. A Tacoma Washington-based photographer (his second choice, his first was musician), Sean is what you might call a wiser spender when it comes to time.  Besides shooting pics, he also owns  Tsunami and Avalanche. We love Sean’s bold approach to photography – this post is entirely in black and white. (ps. can you spot the monkeys?)

1. Why do you make images?

Because I love the challenge. Making consistently good work isn’t easy and I’m motivated for continued improvement.

5. Do you have a “second profession” or passion?

Punk rock music. Skateboarding. And currently running Tsunami and Avalanche which is a heart project for me and my business partner. We are simultanusly located in the USA and Spain. By trade we are photographers and illustrators- creating all original content for the project. The endeavor is born out of an ideal that we can chase our passions without regard of what anyone says. We break the rules because we aren’t interested in following anything or anyone but our own hearts. We let the things in our lives that make our hearts beat become the wind in our sails. And so far it’s been a success.
