Tell us something about yourself Pablo !
I consider myself a happy and outgoing guy, sharing my time with others is very important to me. I love to travel but I also like to lie on my couch and watch a movie. I feel very fortunate to be doing what I love for a living. I’m not pretentious and I don’t like luxury. I think that feeling accomplished with your life doesn’t directly relate to making a lot of money, so I’d rather live experiences than surround myself with material things.
How did you start with photography?
I had a clear passion for photography from a very young age. I wanted to study photography but my parents didn’t want me to, so I studied to be a nurse. It wasn’t until I was 20 years old that I decided to leave nursing school and start art school. During my studies I continued taking photos and presenting my work to several competitions and exhibitions.
Wedding photography, as I understood it at that time didn’t quite fit me. It was a very strict and low risk kind of photography, the standards were too conventional and bending the rules was almost impossible. But even though my first impressions weren’t too positive there was still something about them that really caught my eye and convinced me that I could do something different without being a freak.
From that point on I have never stopped documenting stories.
How would you describe your style?
I'm a light chaser.
I'm not very commercial but that is what makes you different from the rest. My style is simple, I don’t seek any effects on my photos to surprise anyone. My pictures are always simple and straightforward.
What would we find in your camera bag?
I'm a canon guy. I use two Canon 5D Mark III and a variety of Canon lenses:
- 24mm tilt-shift
- 45mm tilt-shift
What are your plans for the future?
“We're so busy watching out for what's just ahead of us that we don't take time to enjoy where we are.” - I don't believe in the past or the future, I never make plans that far ahead, I try to be always present.
